Esophageal cancer is a significant global health concern, characterized by high morbidity and mortality rates. The concept of borderline resectable (BR) esophageal cancer is less clearly defined than in other malignancies, such as pancreatic cancer. This ambiguity impacts diagnostic approaches, treatment decisions, and patient outcomes. This scoping review aims to map the existing literature on BR esophageal cancer to identify gaps and provide direction for future research.
