BCI-Net 2022: The Database of BCI Controlled Robot Contest in World Robot Contest 2022
The brain-computer interface (BCI) is a rapidly advancing technology that enables individuals to interact with external devices using their brain signals. This article introduces BCI-Net, a comprehensive database curated from the BCI Controlled Robot Contest in World Robot Contest, a prominent BCI competition in China. BCI-Net encompasses various BCI paradigms and applications, including steady-state visual evoked potential based BCI (SSVEP-BCI), motor imagery based BCI (MI-BCI), rapid serial visual presentation based based BCI (RSVP-BCI), affective BCI, and BCI Turing test. The database in the present study was curated from the final round of the contest and features real-world scenarios as well as extensive validations by participating teams. The introduction of the BCI-Net database in the BCI community holds promise to accelerate the development of BCIs and facilitate the design of cutting-edge BCI systems and decoding methods toward real-world applications. The BCI-Net database is freely accessible and available for download via the provided link http://bci.med.tsinghua.edu.cn/download.html.
