The goal of this project was to explore how integrate-and-fire units can be integrated with single neurons recorded from primary motor cortex in non-human primates to create artificial connections within the brain and modulate the neurons' intrinsic firing dynamics. We developed a model that accurately simulated the closed-loop dynamics, and explore how various features of the hybrid neural network shape the closed-loop activity.
The code used to extract the data and analyze the results will be released upon publication of the corresponding manuscript.
