This paper investigates the application of polyculture farming in tropical desert climates, with a focus on the Thar Desert region in Rajasthan, India. It explores how the polyculture farming practice of growing multiple crops simultaneously, can address the region’s challenges of water scarcity, soil degradation, and rain instability. By analyzing successful case studies, such as Egypt’s use of polyculture to combat desertification, and gathering insights from locals like Mr. Narayan, as well as other studies online, the project will help identify sustainable solutions tailored to the unique environmental conditions of tropical deserts.
