Analysis code and data related to the effects of environmental temperature on ant nest digging rate, on the shape of excavated nests and on ant movement speed
Experimental populations of the ant Lasius flavus were confined to dig in a quasi two-dimensional layer of clay and sand at controlled temperature in the range 15 - 30 degrees Celsius.
The dataset contains measurements of digging rate (cm/hour) and morphological indicators of nest shape.
A second dataset contains measurements of the movement speed (walking) of ants from the same colonies over a wide range of temperature conditions.
The analysis code to process the data and plot them as graphs is also provided.
