An analytical framework for estimating above and below ground net primary productivity using a rate limitation approach: data source and figure code
In this dataset, 846 field-observed ANPP samples, of which 297 with both ANPP and BNPP data were primarily obtained from three sources: (1) Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) database (Long Term Ecological Research Network, 2016), (2) the Oak Ridge National Laboratory Distributed Active Archive Center (ORNL DAAC, http://daac.ornl.gov/) database, and (3) Web of Science using the keyword “ANPP” and “BNPP” or “above/below ground net primary productivity” for publications that might contain ANPP and BNPP data sets. All the ANPP/BNPP/fBNPP observations were screened according to the following criteria. (1) Observations without site-description (e.g., latitude or longitude) were excluded. (2) Observation sites disturbed by human activities (e.g., fertilization, grazing or other human experiments) were also excluded. (3) Measurements with longer durations recorded in the same place were reserved. The observations were in units of dry matter form (g m-2 yr-1)
