3D printer selection
A 3D printer, the most crucial component of additive manufacturing, is a new technology that can transform the traditional production, supply, and logistics systems. However, decision-makers have not had sufficient courage and determination to actualize this transformation yet, as employing 3D printers in manufacturing processes instead of traditional production is a critical, vital, and irreversible decision which requires extensive information and a high level of experience. Hence, supporting the decision-makers with a theoretical perspective and managerial implications can help practitioners take responsibility and gain the courage to decide on this transformation. The current paper aims to fill the two severe and significant gaps in the literature. It proposes a robust, practical, and reliable decision-making tool to solve decision-making problems related to 3D printer selection.
