Data Management Plan: Automatic Short Answer Grading - Testing a feedback system on a physics quiz. (How can we Improve Human-AI Collaboration to Facilitate Better Decision-making Outcomes)

<p dir="ltr">This research investigates the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to generate hints and automatically grade short answer questions. The aim is to explore how AI-generated hints can support student learning and improve assessment feedback.</p><p dir="ltr">Two studies will be conducted:</p><ol><li><b>Quantitative Study:</b> Students will complete a quiz (Attempt 1), then view AI-generated hints and attempt the quiz again (Attempt 2). Their performance data will be analysed statistically to measure learning improvement.</li><li><b>Qualitative Study (Think-Aloud Sessions):</b> Students will complete a similar quiz while verbalising their thoughts after seeing the AI-generated hints. The recordings and transcripts will be analysed thematically to understand how students interpret and use the hints.</li></ol><p dir="ltr">The findings will contribute to developing automated methods for grading and feedback generation, improving personalised learning experiences in higher education.</p>
