Yozgat (Baştürk Köyü) Arazi Toplulaştırma Projesinin Bölgesel Kalkınma Açısından Değerlendirilmesi
In recent years, the problem of accommodation and nutrition has emerged together with the fast population increase that occurred in Turkey. This nutrition and accommodation need results in the increasing pressures especially on the fields that have high agricultural potentials. When the fields that have high agricultural potential are zoned for construction, and the use of such areas for the intended purposes/capacities, cause that the process becomes irreversible. When considered in this context, it is of great importance to benefit from existing agricultural fields with a planned and sustainable management concept. In recent years, many countries have made serious investments to protect the existing agricultural fields and to obtain high yield from unit areas. These areas that are scattered (divided through inheritance, etc.) and do not have the adequate size for performing agricultural activities are transformed into agricultural fields that produce high yield in unit areas with the help of Land Consolidation. The Land Consolidation works in Turkey have increased in recent years, and are still continuing. However, since the fields that have high agricultural potential are limited, and when the rate of such fields to the general population is considered, it is clear that the works are not at the desired level. In this context, when the contributions of the Land Consolidation works to the economy of the country are considered, it becomes clear that these works must be performed in a fast and efficient manner.
In the present study, the Land Consolidation project, which is run in the Baştürk Village of Aydıncık County of the city of Yozgat was examined in technical terms to determine the situation of the field management and planning at local level. The changes that occurred in the existing fields, and the contributions and results that were obtained in the project were assessed, and recommendations were made in terms of agricultural development in the region.
