Love is one of the deepest emotions that drives humans, yet it is also the source of the greatest melancholy. Throughout history, love and sorrow have been fundamental themes in literature, art, and philosophy. This paper explores the melancholy within love and the effect of time on love, analyzing it from the perspective of Gothic Romanticism.
