Introducing Lightwave Technology Into a Course on Wireless Communications

<p dir="ltr">In many university degree programmes in electrical, electronic, computer, or telecommunications engineering, the subject of wireless communications is taught exclusively in the context of radio frequency signals and applications. However, for a broader exposure to holistic technologies, it is beneficial to learn about methods and applications beyond the radio spectrum. This includes lightwave technologies. We describe our development of a university course in wireless communications that includes both radio and optical technologies.</p>
