This is the report from a workshop convened to bridge the gap between research and application of evolutionary resilience concepts for kelp. The lead conveners were Malin Pinsky (University of California Santa Cruz) and April Ridlon (Monterey Bay Aquarium). The intended outcomes were to:

  • Explore the potential for evolutionary resilience to assist kelp management
  • Inform California’s Kelp Restoration and Management Plan (KRMP)
  • Build relationships between researchers and practitioners that could expand efforts to understand and apply evolutionary resilience concepts for kelp
