Installation view of my data-(a/r/t) playmat which functions as a way of doing slow scholarly da[r]ta (Coleman, 2022) analysis. Close-ups show texture of the crocheted surface.
This mat holds the metonyms, metaphors and motifs of the research participants' challenges and fears for education. It included text from their poems collaged in grief, begging for support. Embedded in the second-to-last concentric ring was a row of paper dolls, mirroring a da[r]tefact that asked what this research could be if we held hands as educators, walking together. This playmat carved out space to sit, play and hold hands (figuratively and literally).
