[para. 1]: "Vital signs, which include temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respirations, and oxygen saturation, reflect the physiological status of the body and its response to physical, environmental, and psychological stressors. Pain, a subjective symptom, is often referred to as the sixth vital sign. As a nurse, you will frequently perform an assessment of a patient's level of comfort and pain during vital sign measurements."
