Mitigating Disasters and Promoting Development in Uttarakhand: A Participatory Model for the State, Civil Society and Media

This report is the outcome of a research project funded by Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR). The aim of the project was to look at the relations between disasters and development at one hand and roles and responses of the state, civil society and media on the other. It also aimed to explore the possible model for participatory, environment-friendly and sustainable development in the hilly districts of Uttarakhand. Project delivered a Model for Disaster Communication Strategy for Uttarakhand.
