Marine Mammal Atlas of Oman

The Marine Mammal Atlas of Oman provides a detailed biogeographical account of all of the marine mammals that have been recorded in the Sultanate of Oman to date. The information in this Atlas is derived from evidence that has been assembled and assessed through scientific process, including records of whales and dolphins collected during dedicated scientific field surveys, as well as opportunistic and incidental records from third parties. The Atlas is aimed at whale and dolphin enthusiasts, scientists, environmental consultants, policymakers/public servants or developers, and provides tools to compliment and build existing knowledge of cetaceans (the collective name for whales and dolphins) with a primary aim of guiding activities towards a sustainable future for this remarkable group of marine mammals.
