This book, "The Book of Sumenep Folklore," contains stories about the history of Asta Jokotole, Asta Syekh Arif Muhammad bin Maulana Maghribi, Goa Kandalia, and Asta Pangeran Joharsari II, all located in Sumenep Regency. These historical stories are well-known among local community leaders and residents of Sumenep Regency. Asta Jokotole is situated in the Sa'asa area, Lanju' Village, Manding District, Sumenep Regency, East Java. Jokotole was the son of Potre Koneng and Adipoday, and also known as Ario Kudopanule or Pangeran Secodiningrat III. He was one of the kings who ruled Sumenep Regency from 1415 to 1460.
In addition to the story of Asta Jokotole, this book also tells the story of Asta Syekh Arif Muhammad bin Maulana Maghribi, located in the southern part of Sumenep city, specifically in the Pongkeng Hamlet, Aeng Baja Village, Bluto District, Sumenep Regency, East Java. Syekh Arif Muhammad bin Maulana Maghribi was a prominent Islamic scholar and preacher from Egypt, known for spreading Islamic teachings in Madura, particularly in Sumenep.

The book also includes a story about Goa Kandalia, a cave believed by locals to be a sacred place for meditation, asceticism, and spiritual retreat. This site is considered sacred due to its historical significance.
The final story is about Asta Pangeran Joharsari II, one of the kings of Sumenep who began his reign with an Islamic nuance, although some historians question the accuracy of this account. Asta Pangeran Joharsari II is still well-maintained and revered by locals as the tomb of a revered king/wali of Sumenep who contributed significantly to the community's well-being in the past.
