Groups of wt and CD11c-DTR mice (4/group) were injected with DT i. p. or left untreated. 24 h later the animals were injected with 1.2×1010 Ad3 particles and the plasma levels of IFN-αβ (A) and IL-6 (B) were measured 4 and 8 h after infection. Mice (4/group) were untreated or injected with 500 mg of anti-mPDCA-1 antibody i. p. and challenged with 1.2×1010 Ad3 particles. Plasma IFN-αβ levels were determined 8 h after Ad infection (C). The efficacy of splenic DC depletions is shown in Fig. S5 and S6.
