Proposed mechanism for the regulation of cell death associated to CLS shortening induced by ammonium in amino acid-starved yeast cells.

<p>NH4+ activates PKA through both RAS and TOR/Sch9p and leads to cell death increase with predominant necrotic features associated to ATP depletion. Sch9p is mediating survival in response to NH4+ possibly through activation of Hog1p.</p>
