PGN-SA stimulation induced STAT3 and Smad3 activation via TLR2.

(A, B, C and D) Phospho-STAT3 and Phospho-Smad3 were detected in cancer cells using flow cytometry assay and equal volume of PBS treatment served as a control. STAT3 and Smad3 activation were all enhanced by PGN-SA stimulation whereas TLR2 blockade hampered STAT3 and Smad3 activation. (C and D) On contrast to TLR2-low cell line MCF-7, MDA-MB-231 cells showed more sensitive to PGN-SA stimulation. Values were expressed as mean ± SD (n = 6 *P<0.05; **P<0.01).
