Expression of TLR1–9 mRNA, MyD88 mRNA, and TRIF mRNA in the developing mouse brain.

Brain homogenates from C57Bl/6J mice at different embryonic (E), postnatal (days after birth, P), and adult (age of months, Pm) stages, as indicated, were assayed by quantitative real-time PCR using primers specific for TLR1–9, MyD88, and TRIF. Relative quantification was assessed by using the formula 2−ΔCT and by normalizing the amount of the target gene to the housekeeping gene GAPDH, whose expression levels were not significantly altered during brain development (data not shown). Mean value of E13 was set to 1-fold induction, and mean values of all other ages were related to E13. Results are presented as mean +/− SEM. Statistical analysis was performed using the Kruskal-Wallis one-way analysis of variance with *p<0.05.
