Effect of venoms on human keratinocytes viability.

TambourgiHaCaT cells (5×104 cells/well) were cultured in 96-well plates with DMEM without FBS for 24 hours followed by incubation with venoms (10 µg of protein). After 48 h and 72 h, the viability was tested by the MTT method and the readings taken at wavelengths of 540–620 nm. Data are expressed as mean ± SD of duplicates. (*) Significant differences (P<0.05) from control; (#) Significant differences from L. laeta venom (P<0.05); (•) Significant difference between female and male Sicarius ornatus venoms (P<0.05).
