Representative H&E stained sections from each group are shown: LDLR−/− (A,B), LDLR +/− (C,D), and LDLR +/+ (E,F). Complex lesions were seen in the LDLR−/− pigs (A,B) that exhibited hemorrhage, possible areas of calcification, fibrous caps and foam cells.
