(1) a well- known route showing the light-induced production of 1O2 at the reaction center of PSII and damage to the D1 protein. (2) a new pathway of damaging the D1 protein through lipid peroxidation and the subsequent formation of 1O2 and MDA suggested in the present study. (3) lipoxygenase-induced lipid peroxidation and damage to the D1 protein.
