Working the Room: The Object, The Presentation, The Viewer

thesis
posted on 2017-12-13, 01:43 authored by JOHN MEADE
The research examines how an artist might situate the single art object in the exhibition, while taking into account the interstitial space between each work, the architecture, and the relationship to the viewer. The enquiry seeks to question a range of factors currently influencing contemporary modes of exhibition display, such as recent installation art practices, the rise of interest in exhibition design, and the increasing demand for an immersive experience for the viewing subject.
