Workforce diversity in Australia: challenges and strategies for diversity management

The overall aim of this paper is to consider the implications of various forms of workforce diversity for management in Australian workplaces. An overview of several dimensions of diversity relevant to the Australian workforce is provided, and the legislative context for diversity management is outlined. In this paper, we argue that an understanding of current issues and trends relevant to diversity management is an important step in the process of developing diversity management strategies that will provide numerous benefits to individuals and organisations.
