The centre piece of the Piazza della Libertà (formerly Piazza XXIII Marzo) in Latina is this wheat fountain sculpture, commemorating the 'battle of wheat'. The fountain was donated by the municipality of Asti and designed by the architect Oriolo Frezzotti. Built in 1934, and highly visible from the balcony of the Prefettura di Latina, this photograph features the sculpture recently cleaned between 2015–16.
