Numerical results for: (a) Gini-like coefficient G, (b) the Youth coefficient Y, (c) the Recentness R and (d) the local entropy 〈h〉, for different values of the ratio γ/η and the two choices of the function f. Blue lines correspond to results for the choice I of the function f regulating the time dependent connectivity of the graph with ρ = 1, ν = 500, η = 0.001, while red lines correspond to results the choice II of the function f with ρ = 2, ν = 15, η = 0.001 (see the Methods section for details). The horizontal black line in each panel indicates the average value of the presented popularity metrics measured on Last.fm, Twitter and GitHub datasets, while the highlighted gray area is the range of such metrics limited by the maximum and minimum measured values. The horizontal purple line represents the same average for the Wikipedia and Gutenberg dataset, being the highlighted purple area the range defined by the waves of novelties metrics on these two datasets.
