VÍDEOS NO CONTEXTO DAS PUBLICAÇÕES AMPLIADAS: CASOS DE USO E COLABORAÇÕES

Apart from the text as main research nucleus, non-textual materials acquire great relevance in the current scientific publication context. The joined and interlinked publication of text and non-textual supplements is known as enhanced publication. Enhanced publications and the use of audiovisual materials in them fall within the multimodal scholarship context. The main aim of this work is to observe how videos are included in this type of publications. The use of videos in nine scientific publishers for natural and exact sciences is revised. In spite of the initial interest in videos, the information infrastructures are still for want of identification and long-term preservation. The need for collaboration between the scientific community, scientific publishers and information scientists is also highlighted. This collaboration is crucial in order to achieve well-identified and properly citable videos.
