The Role of Multiparametric Magnetic Resonance Imaging (mpMRI) in the Diagnostic Algorithm of Prostate Cancer

thesis

Prostate cancer is a serious condition that affects men worldwide. The way that men are diagnosed with this condition still has significant room for improvement. Multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) is a form of imaging that is relatively new in the overall approach for the diagnosis to be made. This project’s aim was to assess how mpMRI should be used in the process of diagnosing prostate cancer and how effective it is. By developing a local database, we analysed results from 1531 different men being investigated for prostate cancer. We found very promising results for mpMRI and encourage its use.
