The Birth of Gods

Jacques Cauvin stated that there had to a revolution of symbols and a birth of anthropomorphic gods before the Neolithic Revolution occurred. This paper agrees and adds to that idea. Doble believes that there was an even more fundamental shift in the thinking of humankind during the Paleolithic. In this early phase homo sapiens began to believe that there were forces in the external reality outside of human beings which could be known and once known could be influenced. This basic thought was true for shamanistic religions, for polytheism and monotheism and is also true for science today.
