A hetero-metal organic framework, [NaSr(HTiron)(H2O)5]·H2O (1) (Na2H2Tiron = 4,5-dihydroxy-1,3-benzenedisulfonic acid disodium), has been synthesized under hydrothermal condition. The framework was characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR spectroscopy, UV–Vis spectroscopy, thermal analysis, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. It features a 3-D network structure with (42,124)(45,64,8)2(4)2 topology, constructed by HTiron3− ligands. Compared with the ligand, the photoluminescence emission of 1 bathochromically shifts and shows emission maximum at 497 nm at room temperature.
