Synthesis and Reactivity of [PPh<sub>4</sub>][Ru(N)Me<sub>3</sub>(SSiMe<sub>3</sub>)], a Ruthenium(VI) Trimethylsilanethiolate Complex

The anionic organoruthenium complex [PPh<sub>4</sub>][Ru(N)Me<sub>3</sub>Br] reacts with NaSSiMe<sub>3</sub> to give the trimethylsilanethiolate complex [PPh<sub>4</sub>][Ru(N)Me<sub>3</sub>SSiMe<sub>3</sub>], <b>1</b>. Reactions of <b>1</b> with CsF or with PPh<sub>4</sub>Cl in nitromethane or acetonitrile produce [PPh<sub>4</sub>][Ru(N)Me<sub>3</sub>(SH)], <b>2</b>. The molecular structure of <b>2</b> was determined by X-ray diffraction. Complex <b>1</b> reacts with [Os(N)(CH<sub>2</sub>SiMe<sub>3</sub>)<sub>2</sub>(μ-Cl)]<sub>2</sub> to form a heterobimetallic complex, [PPh<sub>4</sub>][Me<sub>3</sub>(N)Ru(μ-S)Os(N)(CH<sub>2</sub>SiMe<sub>3</sub>)<sub>2</sub>(NCCH<sub>3</sub>)], <b>3</b>.
