Raw data used in "A Damped Oscillator Imposes Temporal Order on Posterior Gap Gene Expression in Drosophila" by Verd B, Clark E, Wotton KR, Janssens H, Jiménez-Guri E, Crombach A & Jaeger J (PLOS Biology 2018).

Data Record 1

Images and extracted expression profiles of Drosophila wildtype embryos stained for mRNA expression of the gap gene giant (gt). These data are also available via http://superfly.crg.eu.

"*prof.dat" files contain average Red, Green, and Blue pixel intensity values of a 10% band along the anterior--posterior axis of the corresponding embryo. We refer to Crombach et al. (PLoS One 2012) for details on the placement of the band and the extraction of RGB values.

Data Record 2

Images and extracted expression profiles of Drosophila embryos derived from caudal (cad) germline clones stained for mRNA expression of the gap gene giant (gt). These embryos are homozygous mutant for maternal cad, but carry one paternal zygotic copy of cad.

See Data Record 1 for details on file formats.

Data Record 3

"{wt|glc}_single_boundary_data.csv" files contain extracted positions of gt expression domain boundaries from individual embryos (WT = wildtype, GLC = embryos derived from cad germline clones).

"{wt|glc}_integrated_boundary_data.csv" files contain averaged positions of gt expression domain boundaries integrated across embryos. We provide mean, median, standard deviation (stdev), and median absolute deviation (mad).

This data record contains data for gt expression domain boundaries in the trunk region of the embryo (35--90% A-P position).
