Spectral Classification of SIMP J2154-1055

Comparison of the low-resolution, NIR spectrum of SIMP J2154-1055 (black line) with various field and low-gravity templates (colored lines). All spectra are normalized per-band, following the method of Cruz et al. (in prep., see link to poster below).

It can be seen that the best match is the low-gravity L4γ template. The actual spectral classification is L4β (hence with an intermediate gravity), but we do not currently have access to a template for such a spectral type.
