This blog post is the first to present corroboration by Anne Moody’s brother and sister for the claim that Principal Willis in Coming of Age in Mississippi was actually Anselm Joseph Finch. Moody's family also stated Willis High in her classic memoir was actually Finch High School in Centreville, Miss.

Also featured in this piece is a biography of Finch that was written in 1976 as a thesis for a Master of Arts degree at Jackson State University.
