The aim of this workshop was to inform and engage information professionals in two aspects of the publishing process; peer reviewing and writing papers for journal publications. Participation in these activities by practicing librarians contributes to personal professional development as critical thinkers and researcher-practitioners and to the profession in the form of providing evidence based practice. The skills gained in reviewing papers provide potential authors with an excellent foundation for writing a paper for publication. The presenters will provide an overview of the reviewing and publishing processes and participants will then be guided and supported by the presenters to work in small groups to review a short sample paper and draft a publication plan. The proposed programme aims to bring attendees together with the hope that future collaborations may eventuate. Participants might find it useful to bring their own device such as a laptop, although materials will be provided to work offline.
