Research protocol for the interdisciplinary project Significance of the Mouth in Older Age, funded by GlaxoSmithKline.

This protocol sets out the background in terms of oral health and dental care in older age and makes the case for further qualitative research to understand what older people think about their mouths, teeth and oral health.

Fieldwork for this project took place between April and November 2016. This project is due to finish in July 2017. An executive summary of the research report will be available on ORDA. Interview transcripts will be archived at the University of Sheffield library and will be available to researchers on request.
