Reproducibility is reproduction and preservation

This is a piece I wrote after having some thoughts on the topic of reproducibility. Just wanted to put it out there and see whether people agree. I am interested whether people are actually thinking about the long-term effects of reproducibility, because often we are just talking about short-term effects.
