We sistematically compared the effect of neuronal expression of secretable forms of the amyloid peptides Abeta40, Abeta42 or Abeta42arc, with normal or elevated PI3K levels, on synaptic parameters of the Drosophila adult neuromuscular junction (NMJ), on brain neurodegeneration, and on longevity.
For SYNAPTIC PARAMETERS, the number of BRANCHES, BOUTONS, and SYNAPSES (Bruchpilot-positive active zones) was quantified in the adult abdominal ventral NMJ at different AGEs (days after eclosion).
