This research explored the perspectives of three different groups on prehospital care provision in Indonesia: nursing graduates who may staff ambulances, ambulance nurses, and decision makers in prehospital care. This research consisted of three studies, two quantitative studies and one qualitative study. This research shows that both nurse graduates and ambulance nurses had limited prehospital-related skill and knowledge. This research also shows that government support and local communities have an important role in improving the EMS system in Indonesia. The results of the research may be used to improve education and clinical practice for prehospital care in Indonesia.
