This data set provides monthly means of precipitation and temperature data for a regional climate simulation over the European domain. The regional climate model COSCMO-CCLM (https://www.clm-community.eu/) was driven at the boundaries by output from the COSMOS setup of the Earth Model of the MPI in Hamburg (MPI-ESM, compare https://www.mpimet.mpg.de/en/science/projects/archive/millennium/). Jungclaus et al. (2010) describe the MPI-ESM model and the set-up. The CCLM-simulation includes changes in orbital and greenhouse forcings, variations in the TSI, and the effect of land use changes. The data set provides remapped data on a regular 0.5° × 0.5° grid. This simulation spans the period 1645-1999, the data are monthly means. The spatial domain is 10°W to 37.5°E and 30.5° to 69°N. Original data is available from Sebastian Wagner at the Helmholtz Zentrum Geesthacht (sebastian.wagner(at)hzg.de).
