ATR-FTIR spectroscopy has been used to analyse urine samples from women with endometrial (n=10) and ovarian cancer (n=10), as well as from healthy individuals (n=10).

After collection, the raw spectra need to be pre-processed in order to account for inconsistencies relating to the experimental procedure and spectral acquisition. Pre-processing and computational analysis of the data was performed using the PLS Toolbox version 7.9.3 (Eigenvector Research, Inc., Manson, USA) and an in-house developed IRootLab toolbox (http://trevisanj.github.io/irootlab/).
