There is no correlation between a nation’s population growth and its rate of economic growth. Population growth will not make us richer in economic terms and it will almost certainly make us poorer in terms of environmental amenity. This paper examines the effect of Australia’s population growth on greenhouse gas emissions and on the integrity of coastal ecosystems. Copyright. Monash University and the author/s
