Quality of data and interoperability are key for research information systems. Organisation identifiers (Org IDs) enforce uniqueness and disambiguate institutional records ensuring necessary quality and consistency. In this presentation, we describe an approach to achieve 1) adoption of unique, persistent Org IDs in accordance with the national and international best practices; b) enforcement of Org IDs through the use of an authoritative database; c) data accuracy regarding Portuguese organisations.
