The notion of parallel worlds has for various reasons become popular outside of science fiction. One reason is the 2-Slit experiment at root of all quantum weirdness. Another is the nature of our universe as fine-tuned for life and consciousness. In this note we consider why neither wave-particle duality, nor fine tuning, is a legitimate basis for the existence of "parallel worlds" in the sense of this notion that is invoked to account for these phenomena.
