MetPy is a Python library for performing analysis of weather data, designed to fit within the scientific Python ecosystem. This talk describes the work done within MetPy to streamline and simplify the work to create weather analysis graphics. This includes adopting XArray, a Python library for labelled n-dimensional arrays, as the standard data model within MetPy, as well as developing a simplified, declarative interface for plotting.
