This research investigates and proposes a practice-based design solution to meet upcoming disability compliance within Australian railway networks. Focusing on the accessibility of persons with reduced mobility when boarding or alighting between the train and platform, what is commonly captured with the phrase 'mind the gap'. Unique problems presented by project context, mobility device type, and operational requirements are investigated and then addressed through practice-based design research resulting in a novel platform-to-train interface.
