Leadership Strategies for Librarians

Many librarians find themselves in positions of leadership, struggling to meet the demands of managerial and supervisory positions with minimal leadership skills or experience. Others may feel powerless to effect change in their organizations because they are not in leadership positions. How do we position ourselves to be leaders in the library no matter what our position – leading from where we are?


From Kotter’s eight steps for leading change to tried and true management tips and reflective practices, attendees will learn strategies that facilitate achieving organizational goals and strengthen leadership skills. Librarians will be able to take away methods for honing their personal and professional growth as well as to contribute to the overall library community.
