These photographs were taken by David Templeman in Kathmandu between May 1969 and April 1970. He was there for the second time, having previously been in Nepal in 1967. This group of images are general views of Kathmandu itself. Of specific note is the distinct lack of concrete buildings, the rural nature of the city and the clearly defined limits to the city's growth. To be noted are the roadside printing of prayer flags, life in the windows, decorated trucks, the old palace of the Rana rulers then Government offices and the elegant colonnade of the British Library and Cultural Centre.
